8th Grade Promotions
Reported by email@example.com on 4/4/18
This time of year represents an exciting transition in the life of our eighth grade students. There are a number of wonderful celebrations planned throughout the remainder of the school year. The school year will end with the culminating promotion ceremony to honor student’s and parent’s achievements and commitments.
To that end we want to ensure that the eighth grade promotion ceremony provides an opportunity for all students and parents to capture and enjoy the moment. With the increase in enrollment, the large eighth grade classes, and the limited space available, it is difficult to create a comfortable atmosphere for hosting the promotion ceremony. We feel strongly that the transition from middle school to high school can be recognized in an alternative manner which celebrates the student’s success and recognizes student academic contributions.
For these reasons the Granger Middle School promotion ceremony will align to the board approved format used by all District 204 middle schools. Each team within Granger will host their own promotion ceremony for students and families. This will allow ample room for parent and guest attendance and parking. Each ceremony will last between 45 – 50 minutes and students will be able to leave with prior parent permission immediately following their team ceremony. We will continue to recognize students with all of the prestigious awards such as VFW, Rotary, Exchange Club, American Legion, Francis Granger, Jeff Still, and the Emily Wagner Award, ensuring that the celebration continues to be a memorable conclusion to the middle school experience.
