Volunteer of the Month: April
Reported by email@example.com on 4/19/18
The BMO Harris Bank District 204 Volunteer of the Month is being awarded to Jean Blowers from Neuqua Valley High School.
Jean has two children at Neuqua Valley High School and a son at the University of Michigan School of Music. She is part of a family who is passionate about music, her husband is a musician (and scientist), all three of her children are string players and Jean enjoys singing with the Chicago Master Singers.
Jean currently volunteers for the Orchestra Parent Association at Neuqua which involves fulfilling the role of vice president and president, helping with the Crystal Concert, Spooktacular, the Fine Arts Festival and Awards Ceremony, room monitor during concerts, and setting up the music display case. As a talented photographer, Jean also manages the photography for all concerts, creating and managing the online gallery, spirit wear design, and the Orchestra Parent Association Facebook group. While Jean initially volunteered to be involved in her children's education and give back, she is further driven by a sense of advocacy for all families to experience the benefits of music.
Jean had several nominations for this award, one of which stated "My own experience as an orchestra parent has been enhanced immeasurably by the leadership, cheerful dedication, keen eye, enthusiastic talent and countless hours devoted by Jean to our music program. And I am eternally grateful."
