The Indian Prairie Educational Foundation and District 204 honored teacher Bernadette Jacobs as an A+ Award recipient. You can watch the A+ Award team’s surprise visit to recognize Jacobs for “Making a Difference” at A+ Award video.
Nominations were submitted by fifteen parents who described Jacobs as “a gift to teaching” and an educator “we wish could be cloned.” Parent Colleen Johnston said she has a way of keeping each child laughing and learning every day in his or her own way.
“Everyone is happier in Mrs. Jacob’s presence, including me,” Johnston said. “She makes it easy to see that 5 and 6-year-olds are good for the soul and her energy for them is infectious."
Jacobs has been a teacher for 29 years and has taught at Fry Elementary School since it opened.
Wells Fargo Advisors is partnering with IPEF and District 204 to help recognize one staff member each month for making a difference for students. To celebrate these outstanding staff members, Wells Fargo Advisors donates $500 for the staff member to use in his or her school.
The last day to nominate a staff member for the A+ Award for this school year is Friday, May 11. You can nominate a staff member by visiting A+ Award.
