U.S. News Ranks High Schools

U.S. News & World Report released its 2018 Best High Schools ranking after reviewing comprehensive data from 20,500 public high schools, including 670 in Illinois. From that, more than 5,900 of the nation's highest-scoring schools were ranked. All three District 204 high schools made the national list and were ranked in the top 25 for the state.
U.S. News ranked Neuqua Valley 646 in the nation and 16 in the state, Metea Valley was 854 in the nation and 19 in the state, and Waubonsie Valley ranked 1,143 in the nation and 24 in the state.
Superintendent Karen Sullivan said she is excited to share the good news with the community. "It reflects that our students are meeting the challenges of a rigorous curriculum that prepares them for their futures. I'm proud of their work, and the work of our teachers who deliver instruction in a way that engages our students."
Rankings are based on state assessments, graduation rates and how well schools prepare students for college.
