Google is Coming to Fry School!

Reported by on 5/18/18

On Friday, May 25th, Google will be sending representatives to Fry School to facillitate augmented reality lessons with ALL of our students! As quoted from Google: Augmented Reality (AR) is a technology that allows a computer-generated image to be superimposed on a user's view of the real world, allowing users to place digital objects in real spaces. AR generates a new dimension to learning and can hopefully make it easier for students to grasp abstract concepts. Google's Pioneer Program is bringing a sneak peek of Expeditions AR, an unreleased feature of Expeditions. With Expeditions AR, teachers can bring 3D objects into the room so that everyone can examine the object together. Students will use an unreleased feature of the Expeditions app which is currently a prototype. The Pioneer Program uses phones and a router to run the app which will allow students to access educational expeditions across a variety of topics from an African habitat to the solar system. Teachers will lead students through a virtual field trip and place 3D objects throughout the classroom for exploration. Looking forward to getting GOOGLEY on FRYday! #GoogleExpeditions, #ExpeditionsAR, #FutureReady204
