Message from the Superintendent

Dear District 204 Community,
As the school year comes to an end, I want to thank our community for all the support provided to our students this year. In particular, thanks to the leadership of the Indian Prairie Parents' Council for coordinating a first-ever collection to support our low-income families. We explained the need to support 5,000 families with back-to-school supplies and other essentials, and they found a way to meet the need. And I want to say a big thank you to each person who donated during the collection drive in May. You helped raise just under $5,000 in three weeks. Your generosity will make it a little easier for some of our families when they get ready to send their children back to school in August.
As superintendent, I had the honor to attend many wonderful school events this year. I witnessed our students' talents and celebrated their accomplishments all across the district. One of the greatest honors each year is watching our seniors walk across the stage at commencement. In that moment, I realize our work has ended as they embark on their next chapter. I know their time with us was filled with teachers who were passionate about helping students be future ready. We have done our best to prepare them for what is ahead and we wish them the very best.
All three high schools graduated the same day, in the same location. From start to finish, it was a 15 hour day. Thank you to the many staff members who worked behind the scenes to make the event possible. You can get a glimpse of the day by watching the 15 hours condensed into this one minute video.
I hope you have a wonderful summer.
