Student Safety Presentation and Self-Defense Class

Reported by on 7/30/18

As many new college freshmen are getting ready for “move-in” day on college campuses across the nation, the Naperville Police Department would like to help parents send off their young adults safely. The Department is offering a presentation on August 1, 2018 at 7 PM entitled, “Safety for the College Bound Student,” and encourages all college freshman and their parents to attend. The presentation has two distinct focuses. The first part of the program will educate students and parents about drugs, alcohol, and the law, and the second portion of the presentation will concentrate on personal safety.
No registration is required for this class. It will be held at the Naperville Police Department, 1350 Aurora Ave., Naperville. For more information contact Crime Prevention Specialist Mary Browning at 630-420-6731.

In addition to the Wednesday night presentation, a women’s self-defense workshop for high school and college students will be offered on Thursday night, August 2 from 6:00 to 8:30 PM at Safety Town, 1320 Aurora Ave., Naperville. Space is limited and advance registration is required. Priority registration will be given to those that attend the previous night’s seminar. For more information and to register, visit
