Laura Nylen was named interim director of digital learning for the Expanding Learning Opportunities Consortium (eLo). Started in 2014, eLo provides online courses for high school students in Indian Prairie School District 204, Naperville School District 203 and Community Unit School District 200.

For the past 5 years, Nylen has served as an instructional technology specialist with District 204. In that role, she worked with staff to transform practice and create student learning experiences to support the future-ready learner. She also collaborated with administrators to develop a strategic plan for blended learning, including professional development needs. As a passionate educator, she mentored and built capacity among teachers who integrated technology into the classroom learning environment.

Nylen began her career as an elementary school teacher and also served as a library director. She earned her bachelor's degree from Millikin University and holds a master's degree in Instructional Technology from National Louis University.
