1:1 Technology at Young
Reported by email@example.com on 8/9/18
Dear Second through Fifth Grade Parents,
IPSD 204 is very excited to incorporate the use of 1:1 Technology for each student in second through fifth grade across the school district. Students in these grade levels will have a chromebook assigned to them as a tool to support and enhance their learning through the use of Google Apps for Education and other online educational resources. Students will bring their chromebook to school and home each day. Students will keep their electrical cord at home and they will charge their chromebook each night.
At the August 16 Meet and Greet, families will be given a chromebook handbook and parent/student agreement regarding appropriate use of the chromebook at home and at school. If you are not able to attend Meet and Greet, your child will receive his/her chromebook information on the first day of school on August 21.
Please note that the student-parent agreement will need to be signed before students are able to take the chromebook home.
Grade level teachers will share additional information regarding how the chromebooks will be used at Curriculum Night. Chromebooks will go home with students after the start of the school year.
Here is a link to a vodcast regarding chromebook rules for students. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1KYtYVQB-GUnqepakDgWHbtViKmJsYv3O/view?ts=5b4f483f
Please find attached for your review the 1 to 1 Elementary Handbook, the Student Parent Agreement, and the Student Agreement in picture format for children. Hard copies of this information will be given to parents at Meet and Greet and the first day of school.
We are excited about the inclusion of this new tool to support the teaching and learning at Young School.
