During the week of November 3, the Owen LMC will host the sixth annual Fall Book Fair. Set-up will occur on Thursday, October 30. Preview days for the boys and girls will be on Friday, October 31 and Monday, November 3. At that time they will create a wish list of books they would like to own. Shopping will take place during conference hours on November 4 from 8:00 until 3:00 and on November 6 from 4:30 until 8:00. There will be no opportunity for students to shop during school hours. The book fair will also be open for parents to shop on November 5 and 6 during school hours. This is a good time for parents to take advantage of a leisurely opportunity to browse and shop. Children will be in class, so parents should not expect the boys and girls to join them at the book fair. If parents would like to volunteer to assist with set-up, browsing, sales, or packing up the fair at its conclusion, they should call the library or email Joe Stedman. Set-up, browsing and sales will take place at the times mentioned above and the fair will be packed up on Friday, November 7. Volunteers are still needed for the 4:30 – 6:30 and 6:30 – 8:00 time periods on Thursday evening. Your well-behaved children are welcome to come and help as well. The fall book fair is scheduled in November in order to make shopping convenient for parents who are at school for conferences. Our fall book fair includes many gift items that will appeal to all ages, so this is a good opportunity to get a jump on your holiday shopping. Cash, personal checks and major credit cards are accepted. A whopping twenty-five percent of all profits go to Owen School and our vendor provides other incentives as well. This is a terrific way to put some of your shopping dollars into your child's school. We hope to see you all there! |
