Sponsored by Indian Prairie School District 204, Naperville School District 203, and the Collaborative Youth Team, Parent University is a day of workshops designed to share effective, positive parenting strategies for children in preschool through high school.
This year's program will take place at Neuqua Valley High School on Saturday, February 6, 2010 from 8am to 2:15pm. Program cost is $30 per person (full day) and $20 per person (half-day). Breakfast will be provided for all attendees. Those who sign up for the full day option will also be provided with a lunch.
Attendees at the 2010 Parent University will hear keynote speaker Gloria DeGaetano talk about “Parenting Well in a Media Age.” Gloria is founder and CEO of The Parent Coaching Institute, (PCI) and an internationally and nationally acclaimed educator, author, and speaker.
Attendees will also be able to choose two workshops from 14 offerings presented by local child and adolescent development experts. During lunch, attendees will have the opportunity to talk informally with presenters and pick up information from a variety of community social service agencies regarding the health and well-being of children, youth and families.
Registration booklets and forms will be available in November.
