October 26, 2009 Dear Crone Parents, By now you have received either a Connect-Ed message or have gone to the 204 website and read Dr. Birkett’s memo regarding a possible bus strike which could occur at any time. We are again sending our arrival and dismissal plans for your information. This is a repeat of what was sent out last week with one addition. We have now included a visual traffic map which is attached in a .pdf format. PLEASE UNDERSTAND THIS PLAN IS ONLY IF YOU RECEIVE A CONNECT-ED MESSAGE CONFIRMING A BUS STRIKE. AT THIS TIME WE ARE ALL STILL HOPEFUL THAT THE BUS TRANSPORTATION WILL CONTINUE AS REGULARLY SCHEDULED. • It is critical that parents carpool to transport students to and from school. • For arrival, students can be dropped off as early as 7:15 a.m. • We are asking that families from Graham and Patterson attendance areas be dropped off in front of the building accessing the drive from 111th street. • We are asking that families from Kendall, Peterson and others be dropped off in the back parking lot through access via 248th avenue. Because we typically do not use the back lot for drop off, please follow the curb closest to the building to drop your child off. • Upon arrival, 6th grade students will enter the cafeteria with 7th and 8th grade students going to the gym. • We are expecting heavy traffic flow so please plan on arriving at Crone as early as 7:15 a.m. • We will start dismissing students at 2:53 p.m. with 6th graders, followed by 7th, followed by 8th. • Students may remain at school, as we will have supervision available until 3:45 p.m. • Please use the lot that was designated for the drop off for pick up as well. • Students will be allowed to use cell phones at 2:53p.m., however, please understand that some cell phones do not work in some areas of the building. • If you will be picking up your child later than 3:00 p.m. please be sure he/she knows that approximate time. Please direct your child to come outside at that time. • If your child is absent due to lack of transportation please state that on the absence line.
