Kindergarten Orientation

Parents who have a child entering kindergarten in the fall of 2007 are invited to attend orientation meetings at which time questions will be answered and registration information available. Please contact the school for further information or go to your school’s webpage (http://www.ipsd.org/schools_directory.asp) for further information.

If your child will be attending a private kindergarten instead of a District 204 kindergarten, please notify your school office in order for us to plan for future enrollment.

The Board of Education, in compliance with the requirements of the State of Illinois, will maintain kindergartens for the instruction of all children who are residents of the District and who have reached the age of five (5) years on or before September 1 of the year of school enrollment.

When a child is registering in District 204 for the first time, a parent or guardian must provide proof of identity and age by providing one of the following documents:

  • original or certified copy of a birth certificate,
  • valid passport, or
  • other record recognized by a court of law.
