COVID-19 Dashboard

Updated May 10, 2021.

To be transparent, this dashboard includes all positive cases of COVID-19 reported to District 204 for individuals who were on campus. We update this information each Monday by 4pm.

Please note that the DuPage County Health Department typically posts its data nine days after it is collected. So the most recent date on the county-related tables and images below may be over a week prior to the date that this page is updated. (e.g., If this page was updated on March 8, the most recent data available from DuPage County Health Department may be through February 27.)

Metrics

District 204 uses data from the DuPage County Health Department and Northwestern University's 7-day positivity rates for zip codes in our district to determine if a pause of in-person learning and a return to full remote learning is needed.

The metrics that would trigger a pause of in-person learning and a return to remote learning include the following:

  • When the DuPage Health Department has designated the county as being in Substantial Community Transmission for three consecutive weeks, and
  • Weekly County Case Counts per 100,000 have shown a continued rise for three consecutive weeks, and
  • Northwestern University data reflects a 7-day rolling positivity rate that is equal to or higher than 12 percent or the county's average.

A pause of in-person learning is triggered when all rows and columns below are red:

Note to assistive technology users: To save you the trouble of navigating the data table below, all rows and columns are currently not red. So, in-person schooling is still permitted, by these metrics.

Additionally, as we make our decision, we will examine the following IPSD data to help in the process:

  • Outbreaks that cannot be contained or mitigated by the District's COVID-19 Contact Tracing Team;
  • The inability of the District's COVID-19 Contact Tracing Team to respond to a significant surge in the number of cases in the district;
  • Adequate available supply of PPE;
  • Adequate staff available to provide instruction and operate schools.

Protocol for a positive case in a school

In consultation with the health department, the district will take the following steps when there is a confirmed positive case of COVID-19 in a school:

  • The COVID Response Team will contact trace to identify anyone who had recent contact with the individual while infectious.
  • The Nursing Coordinator will consult with the health department.
  • A member of the COVID Response Team will notify directly those individuals who were in close contact and need to quarantine for 14 days as a precaution.
  • All staff and parents within the school will receive an email from their principal letting them know there was a positive case in the school.
  • The appropriate areas of the building will be disinfected as soon as possible to maintain educational continuity of services.
