The Mission: To advance District 204’s commitment to equity and educational excellence
[Image text: Engage in active conversation concerning issues that are important to you; Stand alongside you when you need an advocate; Work to ensure all families and students feel welcomed in school buildings and classroom; Bring awareness to the meaning of equity; DIVERSITY is our strength, INCLUSION is our strategy, EQUITY is our goal]
The Parent Diversity Advisory Council facilitates monthly discussions to promote collaboration amongst parents and district staff to address equity and diversity. We share best practices in order to improve experiences and opportunities for all students. The meetings are open to District 204 parents, staff, and community. PDAC was founded in 2002, as a result of a parent forum held by the school district with parents and staff members in relation to diversity issues.
As of the 2021-2022 school year, PDAC became a Standing Committee of Indian Prairie Parents Council (IPPC), which is the umbrella organization for all the PTA and PTSA units in IPSD204.
