District 204's Board of Education approved the recommendation to hire Rodney Mack as Chief Technology Officer. Mack will officially replace Adam Smeets beginning July 1, 2021.
Since 2010, Mack has served as Executive Director of Technology at Wheaton Warrenville Community Unit School District 200. Before that he was the Director of Technology at Joliet Public Schools District 86 and Director of Media and Technology and Library Resource Center Coordinator for St. Charles School District 303. Earlier in his career, Mack served as Library Media Center Director for seven years with Indian Prairie School District 204. During his time at Wheaton Warrenville 200, he planned and facilitated a full network upgrade for 22 schools, implemented Synergy Student Information System and a conversion to Google for Education. Under his leadership, the technology department implemented 1:1 learning and a content management solution for staff.
Superintendent Dr. Adrian Talley is excited to welcome Mack back to Indian Prairie. “He stood out not only because of his strong connection to our district, but also for his technology acumen, his desire to be out in the schools working with staff, and his belief in getting to ‘yes’ when there are issues related to technology,” Dr. Talley said.
Mack earned his bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from North Central College and his master's degree in Technology from National Louis University. He also earned a General Administration certification from North Central College.
