Change in Instructional Delivery Model
Reported by email@example.com on 3/17/21
Dear Welch Families,
As you read in Dr. Talley’s recent email, we are very excited to expand our learning model to five days per week from 9 am-3 pm starting Tuesday, April 13. We are committed to providing high quality programming for all students, both remote and in-person.
How to Change Instructional Delivery Models-how to go from remote to in-person or from in-person to remote
If your child is currently a remote student or currently an in-person student they will continue in that mode of instruction. You do not need to do anything unless you would like to make a change. If you would like to make a change for your child(ren), we ask that you complete this formby Friday, March 19 at 12 pm. Your updated selection for our five day a week plan will begin when our five day per week instruction starts on Tuesday, April 13
Physical distancing in the classroom is 3 feet or greater. The amount of space above 3 ft will depend on the number of students attending in-person in each classroom.
All students will have instruction from 9 am to 3 pm, Monday through Friday. During that time, both in-person and remote students will receive the same instruction from their teacher, with students in-person in the classroom and remote students participating remotely through Zoom. This is the same “room and Zoom” model currently used in our middle and high schools. Students will remain with their same teacher. Remote and in-person students will participate in academic subjects and specials (art, music and PE).
Students will have lunch at school. During lunch, students will be seated 6 feet apart as they will need to remove masks to eat. We will utilize a variety of spaces to accomplish this seating arrangement.
Remote students will participate in class via Zoom throughout the day. Additionally, we are planning to implement an after-school on-line assistance program that will provide remote parents and students with access to elementary staff who can answer questions and help students with completing assignments. It will be called ACE Time (Ask, Connect and Engage). More details will be shared with families prior to our start April 13.
