Boundary Committee Update: 9/9/21

Reported by on 9/9/21

At last night’s meeting, the Indian Prairie School District Boundary Committee met to continue the process of reviewing information related to boundary adjustments. RSP & Associates facilitated the meeting in which committee members reviewed current capacities and evaluated concepts that incorporate reimagining spaces in some or all buildings.

The committee had the opportunity to give feedback on concept designs for which they would like to move forward for further consideration. Preference was given to those that did not repurpose or close schools. Desirable concepts also included those that balanced demographics, added benefits to schools such as enhanced learning experiences, and provided for future flexibility. The committee examined how concepts could eliminate islands and broken feeders.

The community is invited to observe all boundary committee meetings. There will also be an opportunity for community members to view concepts and provide feedback before the final proposals are created and presented to the board of education. The community’s feedback will be incorporated into the final proposals that will be presented to the board of education for approval.

Community forums will be held at our three high schools on the following dates.

Monday, November 8 at 7 pm - Waubonsie Valley High School
Tuesday, November 9 at 7 pm - Neuqua Valley High School
Wednesday, November 10 at 7 pm - Metea Valley High School

The next boundary committee meeting will be held on Wednesday, September 22 at 6:30 pm at Still Middle School. For more information on the boundary process, to view meeting materials, or watch meeting videos, visit 2021 Boundary Committee.
