Test To Stay Program

Reported by on 11/16/21

Dear Young Elementary parents,

In accordance with guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), and the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) for schools that serve students in pre-kindergarten through grade 12, Indian Prairie School District 204 is implementing a Test to Stay program at our school. The program will begin on Monday, November 15, 2021.

Test to Stay protocols can be used to keep students in school when identified as a close contact to a positive case of COVID-19 during the school day. This allows asymptomatic, unvaccinated students to avoid quarantine or exclusion by testing on days one, three, five, and seven after exposure to COVID-19 as long as they continue to test negative and remain asymptomatic.

District 204 has contracted with Northshore Clinical Labs which will provide test kits for the Test to Stay program to be administered by nurses at our school. Parents will need to give consent for their child to participate in the Test to Stay program.

Please see the Test to Stay FAQ for more information.
