Metea Media: National Pacemaker Finalists

Reported by on 3/3/22

Congratulations to Metea Valley's Metea Media. They were selected as an Online Pacemaker Finalist for 2022 by the National Scholastic Press Association. As one of only 47 finalists from across the country, and one of only four in Illinois, this recognition is a testament to our student journalists' dedication to their mission to tell the stories that walk Metea Valley’s halls.

The Pacemaker is considered the Pulitzer Prize of scholastic journalism and is the largest national competition for student newspapers and websites. This is the fifth time Metea Valley journalism students have been nominated as Pacemaker finalists -- four times for their online newspaper, and once for their print magazine.

Please join me in congratulating our newspaper journalism students for their exceptional work, particularly editors-in-chief Kat Viloria and Mishal Nizar, and managing editor Pravalika Balajivaishnavi. Their leadership ensures that our journalists bring the MV community news and informed opinion every day.
