Fry Elementary Announcements 5/16/2022

Online Registration

Online registration is still open!

Parents and guardians should use ParentVue’s online registration portal to complete the process.

IMPORTANT: If you have not yet completed your child’s registration for next year, please do so right away. If your child will NOT be returning to Fry (or 5th grade to Scullen) next year, please notify the Fry office, if you haven’t already, to help ensure the transfer process goes smoothly. Families moving to Peterson via boundary changes will be automatically switched during the registration process.

Parents will be able to complete residency verification, including uploading necessary documents, during online registration. Complete registration information is available online.

Thank you to the Fry PTA for providing funding to give 4th and 5th grade students the opportunity to have STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Math) Mini-Courses this Tuesday. Thanks to Mrs. Gerdisch, 5th Grade Teacher, for planning and organizing this enrichment opportunity!

Summer Family Connections

All Fry students will bring home a bright blue bag filled with some engaging literacy and math materials to support them over the summer. These materials are for your family to keep.

Indian Prairie utilized Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Funds (ESSER) to provide these resources and create some plans to stay connected with families over the summer. A letter from Dr. Talley is included in your child's bag. His letter highlights additional information on some virtual connection opportunities we are also providing for students this summer. We hope your family enjoys and benefits from these materials!

*K-2 students received bags last week

*This week we will begin distributing bags for grades 3-5.

Retirement Open House Honoring Mrs. Kaufman

On Wednesday, May 25th, Fry will host an Open House Celebration for Mrs. Barbara Kaufman, Fry Interventionist. Families are invited to come to the Open House in the Fry LMC between 4:00-5:00 to wish Mrs. Kaufman all the best in her well deserved retirement after 34 years in education!

Our Book Fair was a Great Success!

Thank you to all the families that supported our book fair. The online part of the book fair is now closed. A portion of the proceeds from the book fair goes directly back to our school library. We have already received some new books for the Library Media Center just for having the book fair, and we will be able to purchase more. Thank so much for your generosity in supporting our school, while at the same time purchasing great books to add to your child's home library.

We also want to thank all the volunteers that helped at the book fair. Your help was invaluable to the successfulness of our fair. We couldn't do it without you!

Gratefully ~ Michelle Loughran, LMC Director
