One of the five priorities identified during the 2023 Master Facility Plan was to modernize district learning environments. Although this initiative was not initially funded as part of the Safer, Stronger 204 capital program, early work being completed under budget has allowed the district to start allocating funds to this project. Every school in the district will receive a portion of the funds in this category. Funds will be used to improve school libraries, renovate classrooms, refresh lunchroom furniture, or improve physical education or fine arts spaces. 

Schools will begin working with the building operations team this fall to identify projects. Improvements will be made over the following years. Additional funding could become available if other district projects are completed below initial budgets.
