Current Practices for Chronic Absenteeism

Every two weeks, the building attendance secretary and the school nurse run an absentee report from the student information system (SIS).

The members of the student support team (SST) will review the report looking for student trends and students who have traditionally had attendance concerns.

A member of the SST will reach out to the family offering assistance and guidance.

Each quarter, letters are sent home by the school to those families whose attendance needs improvement.

Working with a Truancy Officer for the district
