October A+ Award 2024
10/22/2024
The Indian Prairie Educational Foundation (IPEF) and District 204 proudly honor Sara Voller, a third-grade teacher at Gombert Elementary School, with the October A+ Award. Watch the A+ Award video to see the team’s visit to recognize Mrs. Voller for “Making a Difference in District 204”.
Mrs. Voller was nominated for the A+ Award this year by former Gombert student, Bridget St. Clair. In her essay, Bridget described Mrs. Voller as an incredible teacher who has made a lasting impact on her life, and who always made learning fun and exciting. “Mrs. Voller has a way of making each student feel special,” she wrote. “She took the time to get to know us individually and understand our strengths and weaknesses. She encouraged us to embrace our talents and never gave up on us, even when we struggled...She believed in each of us, and it made all the difference.”
Mrs. Voller is an alumna of Waubonsie Valley High School and has taught at Gombert Elementary for twenty-two years. “We’re a family here in my classroom,” said Mrs. Voller, “and I make sure to put the needs and feelings of my students first.”
A+ Award sponsor Western Governors University is partnering with IPEF and District 204 to help recognize one staff member each month for making a difference for students. To celebrate these outstanding staff members, Western Governors University is generously donating $1,000 for each month’s winner to use in his or her school.
