The Final Edition of the 2023-2024 School Year

Today we wrap up an incredible school year! I couldn't be more proud to be a part of the May Watts community. As principal, I am filled with immense gratitude and pride reflecting on the journey we've shared together over the course of the 2023-2024 school year. It's certainly been a year of growth, learning, and unforgettable memories.

First and foremost, I want to extend my deepest appreciation to our remarkable May Watts students. Their curiosity, resilience, and enthusiasm have truly been the heartbeat of our school community. They are the reason we do what we do, and it has been an honor to watch them grow.

To our dedicated staff, thank you for your tireless commitment to our students' success. Your creativity, compassion, and collaboration have created a nurturing environment where every child feels valued and supported. Your hard work and dedication have not gone unnoticed, and I am grateful for all that you do.

Of course, none of this would be possible without the unwavering support of our PTA and families. Your partnership and involvement have been instrumental in creating a vibrant, inclusive school community where every child can reach their full potential. Thank you for entrusting us with your children's education and for being our valued partners in their learning journey.

As we look ahead to the summer months and beyond, I encourage you to continue fostering a love of learning in your children. Whether it's exploring new books, embarking on exciting adventures, or simply spending quality time together as a family, there are countless opportunities to inspire curiosity and growth outside the classroom.

For those who will not be returning to May Watts next school year, we will miss you and wish you the very best in the journey ahead. If you know your child will not be returning, please email Mrs. Binderup at christine_binderup@ipsd.org so we can update our records.

As you may know, our building will be undergoing renovations this summer installing all new flooring and fresh paint throughout the school. Due to this extensive work, the school building will be closed to all employees and visitors until the work is completed. If you need to get a hold of me or Mrs. Binderup, please call and leave a voice message or email us at:

  • Mrs. Kempski: katie_kempski@ipsd.org (630) 428-6710

  • Mrs. Binderup: (630) 428-6700 mailto:christine_binderup@ipsd.org

Wishing you all a safe, happy, and enjoyable summer break. May it be filled with laughter, joy, and cherished moments with loved ones.

-Mrs. Kempski
