Let’s come together as a community to honor our veterans!

On Sunday, November 10th, students, families and veterans are invited to join us at May Watts Elementary for a fun and meaningful Veterans Day celebration. Families will decorate the sidewalks around the school with patriotic chalk drawings and messages, while flags will fly proudly in tribute to those who have served.  Click here to RSVP to this free community event.

Event Timeline

2:00 p.m. - Families arrive to chalk the walk.  Please bring sidewalk chalk.  All drawings and messages be patriotic and respectful, reflecting our gratitude for our veteran's service. 

3:00 p.m. - Pledge recited at the flagpole, followed by viewing of the chalk art and veteran posters.

4:00 p.m. - Event concludes

Honor the veterans in your life!

We’d love to showcase photos of veteran loved ones. Click here to submit a photo and a few details about your veteran(s) here so we can celebrate them as part of our Wolverine family. Each veteran submitted will have an 8.5 x 11 poster placed outside the school to recognize their service.   Veteran submissions must be entered before November 1st. 

If your veteran is able to join you at the school on November 10th, we would love to have them join us - please let us know in the comments of your RSVP.

**This event will be held outdoors.  Please dress accordingly.  In case of inclement weather, the flags and posters will be on display for you to view at your convenience beginning Sunday, November 10th at 2 p.m. and ending Wednesday, November 13th at 6 p.m.**
