December A+ Award 2024
12/19/2024
The Indian Prairie Educational Foundation (IPEF) and District 204 proudly honor Gabriel Vicencio, a 5th grade teacher at Clow Elementary School, with the December A+ Award. You can watch the A+ Award team’s visit to recognize Mr. Vicencio for “Making a Difference in District 204”.
Mr. Vicencio is a first-year teacher at Clow Elementary and was nominated for the A+ Award this year by Clow Elementary fifth-grade student, Shane Christy. In his essay, Shane describes Mr. Vicencio as, “an awesome teacher who goes above and beyond every day in the classroom.”
Shane stated that he nominated Mr. Vicencio for this award because of his emphasis on teaching his students life skills such as manners and how to be kind to one another. His daily challenges for his students such as naming one thing that they are grateful for or actually telling their parents all about their day makes his students pause and reflect. Shane states that, “I look up to Mr. V. as a role model because I want to be like him in the future. I want to love my job as much as he loves his!”
A+ Award sponsor Western Governors University is partnering with IPEF and District 204 to help recognize one staff member each month for making a difference for students. To celebrate these outstanding staff members, Western Governors University is generously donating $1,000 for each month’s winner to use in his or her school.
You can nominate a staff member by visiting A+ Award.
