Hello Granger Grizzly Families! I am so excited to be part of the Granger family! I attended Eastern Illinois University for both my undergrad as well as my Masters. While in graduate school I received the “Distinguished Graduate Student Award” for the Educational Administration Program! In 1997 I started my teaching career in Olney, Illinois in the East Richland Community School District #1 where I taught 7th and 8th Grade English/Language Arts, Social Studies and occasionally Physical Education. I was also the Head High School Soccer Coach. During my time in East Richland I received the Wal-Mart Teacher of the Year Award in 2001 and the East Richland Foundation for Academic Excellence Teacher of the Year Award in 2002!

In 2004 I moved to Thayer J. Hill Middle School in 204 to serve as the Assistant Principal. Three years later I moved into the Principal role at Hill and served as Principal from 2007-2010. During the summer of 2010 I moved to Crone Middle School in 204 where I also served as Principal until 2015. After 5 years at Crone, I accepted the position of Director of Innovation & Instructional Leadership with District 204. During my time at the district office I led the district’s digital 1:1 transformation with Chromebooks as well as lead parent and student education around Digital Citizenship. Additionally, I oversaw all 31 of the district’s librarians and libraries. In addition, I was able to spend a lot of my time providing staff development to teachers and principals within the district as it relates to innovative teaching practices!

I am currently entering my 5th year as the Principal of Granger! It has been an interesting last few years for sure, but I am excited to take on this next school year to see all of the amazing things our students and staff will do this year! As always, I am grateful to be part of this community and honored to be your principal!

Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year at Granger Middle School!

I am ecstatic to be a Granger Grizzly and cannot wait to meet our students and families this Fall.  This may be my first year at Granger, but it will be the start of my 19th year in education. My career started in 2005 in ESD 159 where I taught 6th grade math and science as well as 7th grade math.  From 2007 - 2019, I taught various levels of math and social studies at Crone Middle School.  I then went on to be an 8th grade assistant principal in D33 at Leman Middle School.  The opportunity to return to Crone as an assistant principal became available and my tenure as an AP lasted from 2020 - 2023.  In addition to teaching, I was a sponsor for various clubs as well as a volleyball and basketball coach.

As a middle school educator, I get great pleasure in watching our students grow and develop during their three years with us. Middle school was one of the best times in my personal educational years. I enjoy having the opportunity to work with students both academically and on a social-emotional level to help them navigate these years and create positive learning experiences and memories.  In addition to forging those positive connections with students, I welcome the same experiences with our Granger families. Looking forward to an awesome school year!

Hello Granger Families! I am thrilled to join the wonderful staff members at Granger. I grew up in Naperville and was constantly helping in my mom’s classroom. I knew I was meant to be a teacher. After graduating from Naperville Central High School, I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with an endorsement to teach middle school as well as English learners through Northern Illinois University. I taught 3rd grade in District 203 prior to joining IPSD 204 in 2013 to teach ELL at the elementary level. I received my Master’s in Reading Instruction from Aurora University, completed my Learning Behavior Specialist endorsement from Lewis University and Teaching with Technology endorsement from University of St. Francis. Finally, I graduated from North Central College with my Master’s degree in Educational Leadership. For the past two years, I was the Student Services Coordinator at Spring Brook Elementary.

I believe in the partnership between home and school and I look forward to getting to know the Granger students and their families. Middle school is an opportunity for students to explore their interests by taking chances and making mistakes. We are here as a support system to guide our students in becoming happy, successful, contributing members of society.
