Illinois Principals Association DuPage Region Elementary School Principal of the Year 

The board salutes Young Elementary School principal, Erin Rodriguez, who was named the Elementary School Principal of the Year from the DuPage Region of the Illinois Principals Association. The award recognizes elementary school principals who have demonstrated a positive impact on their students and learning community. Congratulations Principal Rodriguez!


Indian Prairie School District Spelling Bee Winners

The board salutes Jai Viswanathan, eighth grader from Hill Middle School, who captured the first-place title at the 2024 Indian Prairie School District Spelling Bee on Tuesday, January 30. Michelle Battumur, eighth grader from Gregory Middle School, took second place and Janani Narayanan, eighth grader from Crone Middle School, won third place. Twenty-one students from all seven middle schools in the district participated in the event. The top three students from District 204 will compete in the Scripps DuPage County Spelling Bee Final on Wednesday, February 21 in Wheaton.

District 204 Students Excel in the High School Robotics Tournament

The board salutes District 204 high school students and staff who participated in the Robotics Tournament at Crone Middle School on Friday, January 26, as well as director of innovation and instructional leadership, Brian Giovanini for serving as tournament organizer. 
Congratulations to Waubonsie 8780A, which captured the Tournament Champion Award. Metea 8995B and Neuqua 2360N were awarded Tournament Finalists. The Skills Champion went to Metea 8995B and the Skills Runner-up was granted to Waubonsie 8780A. 

Congratulations to all the robotics teams and thank you to the Indian Prairie Educational Foundation for supporting this robotics tournament experience.


Career & Technical Education Instructor of the Year

The board salutes Neuqua Valley High School Business Education Teacher, Jennifer Yavorski for being awarded the Career and Technical Education Instructor of the Year. Jennifer was selected by District 204 in partnership with the DuPage Area Occupational Education System and the College of DuPage, in recognition of her innovation, passion, and advocacy.
