Hello Graham Families! 

 

THANK YOU to all those who participated in the STEM Fair last week! Attendees were very impressed with all the hard work, creativity, and curiosity that went into the student projects. Well done! A special thanks to Leigh Corbell for planning and executing another great STEM Fair! The PTA would also like to thank all the vendors who participated in such a fun night.

For those parents who have volunteered at Graham this year, please save the date for the Volunteer Appreciation Tea on Friday, April 19 from 2-3pm in the Graham MPR. This is a wonderful event put on by the Graham staff, to show their appreciation for all that we do throughout the year for the Graham community. 

STAFF APPRECIATION WEEK

May 5-10

The PTA is planning a great week to show our Graham Staff just how much we appreciate them! Throughout the week, we will be providing them with breakfast donated by Whole Foods Naperville, catered lunch from Vai’s Naperville sponsored by TEAM MILLER (Tasha & Bruce Miller, affiliated with Keller Williams Infinity), charcuterie grazing board donated by That Board and a fully stocked snack cart to round out the week!

We would love to get the students involved in decorating for this special week! A display has been set up in the LMC with paper flowers, butterflies, and leaves for students to decorate. Please encourage your kids to visit the LMC to decorate one of these items for their favorite staff members!

On Sunday, May 5, from 1-3pm, Graham students and their families are invited to come “Chalk the Walk” with encouraging messages to staff on the sidewalk in front of the school.

Snack Cart Donation Sign Up

Please drop off all Staff Appreciation Snack Cart donations at either Jon Guerrero's house (2652 Sweetbroom Road in High Meadow) or at Jen Cortese's house (4203 Delaware Court in River Run) no later than Monday, May 6th. If you sign up for a cash donation, you can make your payment via Zelle to pta.grahamelementary@gmail.com.

BIKE & ROLL TO SCHOOL DAY

May 8

This year, Graham is participating in National Bike & Roll to School Day on May 8! We encourage all students and families to bike, roll, or walk to school. Bike & Roll to School Day invites participants to celebrate the joy of active commuting while building a sense of community and school spirit.

Graham Graduate Yard Sign - order by Wednesday, April 24th
It's optional for parents to purchase a yard sign with their student's name ($25). Signs are ordered directly through Gymazing Finds but the PTA will pick up and deliver all signs to you.  To purchase one, please follow this link to order: Yard Sign order link

Fifth Grade Farewell Field Trip to Ultimate Ninjas - Tuesday, May 28th
This year students will have a fun filled field trip day at Ultimate Ninjas!  The cost to attend this field trip is $15 per student.  Payments can be sent on or before May 1st via the MemberHub  Graham PTA Payment Link.  Scholarships will be provided by the PTA for any student who needs financial assistance.  Please reach out to Mrs. Witkowski. 

Students will need to pack a disposable sack lunch for this field trip as they will be eating at Ultimate Ninjas.

Upon arrival back to school the students will be greeted with a red carpet to walk down as they re-enter the building through the main door.  Families are invited to attend this red carpet arrival and will not need to check in at the office as this will be an outside only event.  They are scheduled to arrive back at school at 1:30pm.

Please fill out the Ultime Ninjas Waiver by Wednesday, May 1st so your student is allowed to attend.

5th Grade Farewell  Picnic – Friday May 31st, 11:00am

Pack a blanket and a picnic to enjoy lunch with your Falcon. Please check in at the outdoor table upon arrival to receive your child’s t-shirt gift from the PTA. Students will join in at 11:10am.

This year the PTA will be providing cheese pizza for each student from Domino's as part of the farewell celebration.  Be sure to send your student in with additional food for lunch as we’ll only have enough for each student to receive one slice.

Immediately following the lunch families are invited to stay to enjoy games and fun during the recess period! In the event of rain, the picnic will be held in the Gym, Falcon Family Picnic Style! 

5th Grade Clap Off - Friday May 31st, 2:45pm

At the end of their last day at Graham Elementary, Graham will gather as a school in the hallways and then outside to “clap” for our 5th graders as they exit the building. If you would like to join us to send our students on their way, please plan to gather at the back of the building lining the sidewalk by the playground by 3:10pm. We ask that you park in the side staff lot or walk over, due to buses needing the front lot for dismissal.

Parents are welcome to start arriving at 2:45pm to chalk the walk! Please bring your own chalk and meet at the back sidewalk behind Graham to write congratulatory messages to your Graham Graduates!
