Happy Friday!
It's been such an exciting week at school! Our week started out with the school-wide indoor and outdoor viewing of the solar eclipse. On Wednesday, the crew was at school bright and early to begin installation of the new gaga ball pit. Thank you to the May Watts PTA for their generosity in fundraising and supporting this project. We are so excited to begin playing! There are many variations to the game. To ensure we are all playing safely and respectfully, we will be taking time over the next two weeks to introduce the game and teach each class how to play. Wednesday afternoon ended with the school-wide dress rehearsal for the 2nd grade musical. Our 2nd grade Wolverines did a magnificent job at both the rehearsal and evening performance! Thank you Mrs. Donaldson and the 2nd grade teachers for their work in preparing our students.
We are looking forward to welcoming all of our May Watts families to our Open House next Thursday, April 18th from 6:00-7:00. The PTA meeting will immediately follow in the gym starting at 7:00. We hope to see you there!

Important School Information
One School One Book
One Book, One School is here! Each year the May Watts community comes together to read one book as a school. Each family should have received a copy of the book sent home on Thursday (4/11) to be read together as a family at home (the book was be given to eldest/only children).

May Watts Open House & PTA Meeting
We are excited for our upcoming open house on Thursday, April 18th from 6:00-7:00 PM. During this time, families will be able to visit classrooms, tour the building and see all of our students' hard work. At 7:00, we invite families to join us in the gym for the General PTA meeting.

Parent University: Becoming an Elementary School Parent
Parent University: Becoming an Elementary School Parent is an interactive presentation geared toward incoming kindergarten and first grade parents and guardians to better prepare them for this new transition in their child's life. The purpose of this presentation is to share what to expect as your child enters school full time and how parents can support their child’s emotional development throughout the early school years. A panel discussion among Indian Prairie School District 204 staff members will round out the evening.
Please note: This presentation is open to any IPSD 204 parent/guardian of an incoming kindergarten and/or first grade student. The information presented will not address any individual elementary school's policies or procedures.
The presentation will be offered both in-person and virtual. The content presented will be the same at both sessions.
In-Person Date: Tuesday, April 30, 2024
Time: 6-7 PM
Location: Welch Elementary School, 2620 Leverenz Road, Naperville
Childcare will be provided for children ages 3-10 by District 204 high school students. Children must be able to use the bathroom independently.
Virtual Date: Thursday, May 9, 2024
Time: 7-8 PM

Welcome Future Kindergarten Students & Families
Please complete the Kindergarten Information Sheet so we can share important information with you prior to registration. Official online registration will open May 1, 2024. If you know an incoming kindergarten family, please share this information with them!
Our school will be hosting a Kindergarten Orientation night on Wednesday, May 1st from 6:30-7:30 for parent/guardians and incoming kindergarten students.
