2023-24 Clubs

Baking Club - This club will be starting on Tuesday 10/24, from 3:05 to 5:00 pm. Space is limited.  Google code is xvibm3k. Math Competition Events - Math Club events are getting started soon! We will have a school-wide math competition on Tuesday, November 7th. If you are among the top 20 students in the school competition, you will be invited to join the MATHCOUNTS Team and represent Crone at the 204 District Math Competition in January! See Ms. Duncan for more information or email her at karly_duncan@ipsd.org  To prepare you for that, we will have a WORKSHOP on Tuesday, October 24th. This will be after school in the Blue Den B215 from 3:10-4:30.  If you don’t make the team, there will be other opportunities for you throughout the year. S.A.F.E. at Crone – This club is a GSA (Genders and Sexualities Alliance) for LGBTQ+ students and supportive allies. It is open to all students who would like to help Crone become a more equitable and safe school for everyone. S.A.F.E. stands for Student Allies For Everyone. Mrs. Skeels (monica_skeels@ipsd.org) and Mrs. Weinstock (ann_weinstock@ipsd.org) are the sponsors for S.A.F.E. at Crone. Our first meeting will be Oct 17th at 3pm to 3:45pm in Room B103.

Yearbook Club - This club begins Thursday Oct 12th and takes place on Thursdays from Oct - March from 3:05-4:00 in Room D137 and the classroom code is 7I2ekeb and please email jennifer_rayola@ipsd.org with questions.

Robotics Club - The competitive robotics team info can be found by joining the Google Classroom at MSGRJ6X.  Email Mrs. DiCola or Mrs. Knight for more info at richelle_dicola@ipsd.org or sandra_knight@ipsd.org 

Intramural Basketball - 6th grade Intramural Basketball will be starting on Monday, 11/6, from 6:45-7:30 am in the main gym. It will be open to all 6th grade students. Additional meeting times will be 11/13, 11/27, 12/4, and 12/11. Sign up on the basketball classroom page. Code is gekes6o. Any questions, contact Mr. Williams (eric_williams@ipsd.org).

Teachers of Tomorrow Club -  Are you thinking about becoming a teacher in the future?  Come experience the life of an educator by joining Crone’s Teachers of Tomorrow club! Our first meeting will be on Wednesday, October 4, 2023. Meetings will be twice a month on Wednesdays 3:05 - 4:30 Room B112 Tan Den. Kindness & Crafts Club:  Do you like spreading kindness at Crone and around our community?  The Kindness and Crafts Club club is starting next week!  The Google Classroom code is 25uf2l6  and meeting dates and more information is available there.This club will run on Thursday mornings from 7:30-7:55 in Room A206, and the first meeting will be on September 28th at 7:30am. Questions? Cricket Club - Cricket Club will be starting on Thursday, 9/7, from 6:45-7:30am. It will be open to all students, grades 6-8. Google code is p2wvwqo. Equipment will be provided. Club dates will be 9/7, 9/14, 9/21,9/28, and 10/5. Meet at the gym doors. Any questions, see Mr. Williams or email eric_williams@ipsd.org  

Art Competition for Quarter 1 - 8th grade= an abstract design 7th grade= a mix of two superheroes or villains 6th grade= one of your teachers (with their permission) Submissions can be any media and any size. All submissions must be school appropriate.Winners will be announced on the last day of the Quarter. Please HAND IN your piece to Miss Bjerga in C104 or to the main office.DEADLINE= October 25th, 2023. Questions? See Miss Bjerga or email at kera_bierga@ipsd.org

Fall Chess Club: It will be held on Tuesdays after school beginning Tuesday, September 12th. It will be run by Miss Duncan! (karly_duncan@ipsd.org) Join the google classroom to get connected with some of your fellow chess players! d7x7fiu

Fall Art Club: Permission slips will be available for students to pick up in C104 starting 8/30.  The first meeting for the fall art club will be Monday, September 18th.  Art Club will be held every Monday until December 4th, and be from 3:05-4:05pm.  Spots are limited and are on a first come first serve basis with signed permission slips.  Deadline for turning in permission slips is Friday September 15h. Multi Cultural Club – This club is for celebrating the cultures that make Crone such a great place. It is open to all students who would like to help Crone learn about cultures, celebrate holidays with food, and have deep conversations about diversity. Mrs. Skeels (monica_skeels@ipsd.org) is the sponsor for Multi Cultural Club. Meeting dates to be announced shortly.
