Fry Elementary Weekly Announcements 4/1/24

 

Welcome Back! We hope you had a great spring break and are ready to begin the 4^th Quarter!

 

Absences/Attendance Line

A reminder that parents must report a reason for a student absence no later than 9:00 AM. This can be done in ParentVue, or by calling the attendance line (428-7400, press 3). If a reason for absence isn’t provided (sick, vacation, etc.), the student is marked truant. Messages can be left on the attendance line at any time. 

 

Please remember to contact the school to report an absence! Thank you!

 

April 8^th Eclipse Viewing

Students will have the opportunity to view the eclipse during school on April 8th. Glasses will be provided for those who want to participate. Please watch for a permission slip coming home with your student on Tuesday. This is a quick turnaround as we need the forms back by Thursday.  

 

Residency Verification Process

The district is again contracting with a third-party vendor to automatically verify student address information. As was the case last year, we anticipate the majority of families will be electronically verified.

If your residency is electronically verified, you will receive a letter of confirmation. If you register prior to the first day of school, there will be no need to submit any additional paperwork to certify that you live within the district’s boundaries.

A letter will also be sent to families whose residency we are unable to verify electronically. The letter will provide details on additional information you will need to provide during online registration in order to register your child for the upcoming school year.

Verifying residency is an effort to protect taxpayers and district resources by identifying non-residents attending District 204 schools. Illinois law mandates that parents demonstrate residency prior to enrollment in school and allows for periodic verification to validate compliance with the law.

Spring Pictures

On April 11^th students will have spring pictures taken. A proof sheet will then be sent home with the opportunity for parents to make an optional online purchase. There is no ordering in advance for spring pictures.

 

Kindergarten 24-25

We are asking families with students who will be age five by Sept. 1^st to fill out the Kindergarten Information form linked below. We will send registration information to families in May.
