Fry Elementary Weekly Announcements 5/6/24

 

Fry StoryWalk® now on display!

Beth Rosa, Fry Reading Teacher, was selected to receive grant money from the IPEF (Indian Prairie Educational Foundation) to create a StoryWalk® for Fry and its community.

A StoryWalk® is a fun activity that engages families in literacy. Pages from a children’s book are displayed along a path at a park, neighborhood, or school. Families have fun reading aloud together and building children’s interest in reading while enjoying a walk. 

The StoryWalk® project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, Vermont and developed in collaboration with the Vermont Bicycle & Pedestrian Coalition and the Kellogg Hubbard Library.

Fry’s StoryWalk® is now on display in front of the school! The featured book is Plume World Explorer by Tania McCartney. We encourage Fry families to come read the book together. Be sure to check the last display for an opportunity to engage in some follow-up activities.

 

Elementary Summer Music Camp

Sing - Drum - Play

 Indian Prairie School District 204 offers all students entering 4th, 5th, and 6th grade an opportunity to sign up for a week-long summer music camp. Students will spend their morning singing, dancing, and playing a variety of instruments like xylophones, drums, and ukuleles. On the final day of camp, students will perform their music for their families. There are three different camps; one offered at each of the different high schools. Please pick the location and dates that work best for you. All camps are 9:00-11:00.

Waubonsie Valley HS Camp

Metea Valley HS Camp

June 17-21

Neuqua Valley HS Camp

June 24-28

Online Registration

Online Registration for next school year is NOW OPEN in Parent Vue. We ask that all families register during the month of May, no later than Friday, May 31^st (last day of school).

We are having an early registration contest! The grade level with the HIGHEST PERCENTAGE of registrations completed by May 17^th will win a popsicle party!

If your family is moving and you will not be registering, please contact the Fry Office. Thank you!

 

 

Register with Team IPEF Today!

Run, walk, and raise funds as a Team IPEF Charity Hero in the Naperville Half Marathon, 10K, or 5K on October 20th. 50% of funds raised go to your favorite IPSD 204 school and 50% to IPEF-funded district-wide programs.

The goal is to have a team at every school, so gather your friends and family to register and join the fun! Let's make this year's Team IPEF a huge success!
