Amy Davis is known at White Eagle Elementary School not just as a familiar face but as someone who helps students and teachers alike. Because of her continued support of the school community, she is being named the BMO Harris Bank District 204 Volunteer of the Month.
Amy has three children, two of whom attend White Eagle Elementary. She currently serves on the PTA Executive Board and has volunteered in every capacity to support the school. She has organized or volunteered for the Fall Festival, Color Run, the WE Give Back annual fundraiser, and the WE Give Back silent auction. Additionally, she maintains the school’s PTA newsletter and website. She also helps with White Eagle’s annual Giving Tree Project and yearbook creation.
Principal Mary Howicz shared, “As a PTA volunteer, Amy is running all programs, meetings, and checking in regularly with the school staff with only two or three other volunteers. Her positivity, encouragement and her team player mentality has helped our school and community which continues to experience joy and social well-being!”
Amy volunteers because she loves to give back to the community and enrich the student’s school experience in any way that she can. She says, “When we are bigger than ourselves and personally invest in our children, we can create a culture of community that not only enriches our student’s lives but the direct community we live in.”
