Procedures for Public Comment
The Board of Education welcomes public comments at all of its meetings. At 6:00 pm on Tuesday, September 8, 2020, those wishing to participate in public comment can sign-up at this link. This link is not active until 6:00 pm on Tuesday.
If the public wishes to provide public comment, they need to join by phone by calling 929-436-2866 and enter meeting ID 773-171-436 and password 050359.
You must call into Zoom from the same phone number you provide on the sign-up form so we can identify you when it is your time to speak. If you dial in from a different phone number or access the Zoom on a computer, we will be unable to identify you when it is your turn to provide public comment. We will not be accepting public comment using video. The sign-up for public comment will close at 6:57 pm.
The board president will announce each public comment speaker by the order in which they signed up. The speaker's microphone will be unmuted and they will have three minutes for comment. After three minutes, the speaker's microphone will be muted. This procedure will be repeated for each person signed up for public comment.
If you are not signed up for public comment, please watch the simultaneous livestream on the district's YouTube channel.
Public Comment for Agenda and Non-Agenda Items: 30 minutes is allowed for public comment, and each person is limited to three minutes. When addressing the Board, please respect the confidentiality and safety of our students and school district personnel. We also ask that those addressing the Board be cognizant that this is an open meeting and is available to all age groups and, as such, ask that you consider who the audience members are this evening and keep comments age appropriate. Public comment represents the voice and opinion of the speaker. There will be no feedback from the board members during the meeting, but follow-up will be provided by an administrator as appropriate.
