October A+ Award 2023
10/25/2023
The Indian Prairie Educational Foundation (IPEF) and District 204 proudly honor Melonie Mateja, a school nurse at McCarty Elementary School, with the October A+ Award. You can watch the A+ Award team’s surprise visit to recognize Nurse Melonie for “Making a Difference” in the October A+ Award Video.
Nurse Melonie was nominated for the A+ Award this year by District 204 parent, Cathy Rigas. In her essay, Mrs. Rigas stated how grateful she was for Nurse Melonie’s thoughtfulness and patience when caring for her son. She went on to say, “She is compassionate, kind, and my son feels safe and cared for by her. Thanks Nurse Melonie, for always being there for us and your hard work. You are amazing and my family is grateful you are our school nurse!”
This is Nurse Melonie’s fourth full year working as a school nurse at McCarty Elementary. “I love my job and I love working with the kids,” said Nurse Melonie. “I feel like I am making a difference here.”
IPEF is proud to sponsor the A+ Award in its tenth year. You can nominate a staff member by visiting A+ Award.
